The Bourne Group
The Bourne Group is one of the latest companies who took delivery of their new truck from MC. The company believes the truck will be a game changer due to the specifications it was built to. The new Volvo FM Tridem has a Wilcox 40m³ capacity rigid body Keith walking floor and was designed to withstand the test of time for any tipping operations. Peter Bourne, Managing Director at the Bourne Group says: “This walking floor truck, the body of which does not tip when discharging, virtually eliminates the risks associated with tippers and tipping and in my opinion it could just put us ahead of the curve.”Just like with Volvo Trucks, safety is a core value Bourne so the company has also specified their truck to be CLOCS, FORS and Crossrail compliant. They have improved the truck’s visibility by adding a low level and a camera and sensors systems.
MC has been a long time supplier for Pinden of Longfield with the first truck being delivered back in 2005. The company took delivery of 12 Volvo FE skip trucks and 4 FMX 8x4 tippers which means Pinden now have 38 skip trucks 99% of them are Volvos. Terry Bishop, Managing Director at Pinden says "As a business we are expanding, and delivering on environmental and efficiency goals. Volvo Trucks play a vital role in helping us to realise our aspirations." The company is Crossrail and FORS Gold accredited so it comes as no surprise the company chose to increase truck visibility by specifying all the trucks to be equipped with Brigade all-round camera and sensor systems.
