MC Group - Tickled Pink in Supporting Cancer Charity

Nov 8, 2011

All 300 staff joined together across the entire 8 depots to donate £2 each to wear an item of pink for the day on Friday 28th October.

Pink balloons decorated the depots and there were even pink cakes and lollies to tuck into on theThurrock Wear It Pink day. MC Staff encouraged customers to join their festivities. At West Thurrock Ford Motor Company were more than happy to oblige, bringing their pink car Transporter alongside Dager Transport who brought their truck painted with the familiar breast cancer ribbon logo.

The event was organised by Nicola Brown, based at MC Group head office in Maidstone, who is herself recovering from breast cancer. She said “the wear it pink day was a fun and easy way to get everyone involved in a charity that I and so many others are committed to. Particularly in our industry it was great to see the trucking world turn pink for the day!”

Portsmouth Wear It PinkThe day ended a great success with MC raising an amazing £2465.44 for the charity. Nicola adds “It was great to see the whole company joining together on the day to Wear It Pink and raise such a fantastic total.”

This figure has topped the previous amount of £500 raised back in 2005 when MC Group last ran the wear it pink day.

MC Group Managing Director Simon Dawson was thrilled with the event and its success; he said “It was a great day that all staff across the region got involved with, to support an extremely important cause. Like myself, many people have had somebody close to them that has been affected by this illness. I am delighted with the amount of money we raised for Breast Cancer Campaign.”

Our depots are strategically located to give the very best local service.
