MC Truck and Bus - Keeping you in the Pink
MC Group is turning the trucking world pink for a day in support of the wear it pink for Breast Cancer campaign. 300 staff across all depots will join together on Friday, 28th October and donate £2 each to wear an item of pink for the day.
The event is being organised by Nicola Brown who works at MC Group Head Office in Maidstone. Nicola is very enthusiastic about the event as she is recovering from Breast Cancer herself.
Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer and one woman in nine will be affected by it during her lifetime in the United Kingdom. All the money raised from wear it pink will help to beat breast cancer.
MC Group has 8 depots spanning the entire South East region and Nicola is excited at the chance to take the event across such a big area. With this comes the opportunity to get all staff involved alongside raising as much money and awareness for the cause as possible.
Nicola says “the wear it pink event is a fun and easy way to get everyone involved in a charity that I and so many others are committed to. Particularly in our industry it will be great to see the trucking world turn pink for the day!”
MC Group Managing Director, Simon Dawson, is fully supportive of the wear it pink day. He said “like myself many people have had somebody close to them that has been affected by this illness and I am delighted that Nicola is organising the event here at MC. Nicola had her own battle with breast cancer last year and understandably is very passionate about raising as much money on the day as possible.”
In a bid to raise as much awareness as possible MC Group have appealed to customers across the region to take part and bring along any pink commercial vehicles they have to their nearest MC depot and join the festivities. Ford Motor Company have already gladly agreed to showcase their pink car transporter at West Thurrock.
The Group’s Maidstone depot took part in the event back in 2005 and made £500 for the Breast Cancer Campaign. Nicola is now hoping to beat the previous total by getting all depots involved. In a further show of support MC Group has pledged to double the amount of money raised by staff on the day.
