Health and safety policy

The Company acknowledges  that it has many legal and moral obligations for the health and safety of employees  whilst they are at work, of customers and their property whilst they are in our  care,  and  for other  people  who  may  be  affected  by  our  activities.  The Company intends to take all reasonable  and practical steps to carry out these obligations and achieve a high standard of safety performance.

The procedures and arrangements made for Health and Safety are held on the Intranet and are available for all personnel, visitors, contractors etc. The Intranet information may also be supplemented by local policies and procedures,  and shall be utilised together to achieve the aims in accordance with the requirements set out in The Health and Safety at Work Etc. Act 1974 and other specific Regulations.

Employees are reminded that they too, have obligations for the safety of themselves,  other persons and property.

These obligations can only be met if they are prepared to:

  • Carry out their jobs in a safe and proper manner
  • Use the safety equipment and facilities provided by the company
  • Have regard to the proper and safe use of any substances hazardous to their own and other persons’ health by taking appropriate measures to minimise or eliminate risk
  • Ensure that Company and customers vehicles, and other vehicles temporarily in our care are safe to be on the public roads
  • Make sure that their work areas are kept clean and tidy, reporting all hazards to their Department Manager
  • Dispose of waste products and materials safely
  • Make sure that the services we provide are to the standards required by the company to ensure customer and user safety
